At LinkPen we're connecting kids as pen pals while also raising funds to promote initiatives that serve children and schools in developing communities around the world. Our first stop is a small country in West Africa, called Liberia. According to USA Today, Liberia is the number one poorest country in the entire world.
Many children living in Liberia do not attend school simply because their parent/s cannot afford the monthly tuition. Parents are left to decide which of their children will attend school and which ones will remain at home, and ultimately remain uneducated. Some children who do attend schools have to carry their chairs to and fro, everyday, in order to have a place to sit during class. It's very sad to imagine a young child having to tow a heavy chair back and forth to school every day.
Education is essential in positively transforming the lives of children living in poverty, therefore, we believe in taking action with urgency to not only raise awareness about their lack of access to education, but also provide them with the support needed to achieve quality education. Achieving quality education means receiving access to education in an environment that is conducive for learning. Additionally, we're working to connect these children with pen pals from countries all around the world in order to expose them to different cultures and ways of life in hopes of increasing kindness in the world, and inspiring and shaping a brighter future.
Here at LinkPen, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for children and future generations. Our efforts are strategically focused on making a measurable difference in the lives of children around the world, and most especially those living in poverty. We are committed to moving expeditiously because we believe that learning just can't wait and EVERY child has the right to education in order to secure a better future.
Join us in our mission to inspire children to a brighter future through increased access to education, improved learning conditions and diverse friendships.
